The most learned sermons, the finest music, the most compelling programs, the best coffee, and the most entertaining activities all take a back seat to authentic care of and for the individual. Pastoral care is central to the health of any congregation. It is also the task of the entire congregation. While the minister's role is critical in times of cataclysmic change – birth, death, accident or relational rupture – the ongoing joy of caring for each other belongs to the community members. Bringing my passion to help congregations tap into that joy I

  • offer hospital, hospice, and home visiting and pastoral counseling to congregation members and friends.
  • craft and perform rites of passage including dedications, memorial services and wedding ceremonies.
  • present Lay Pastoral Care Associate training for Unitarian Universalist congregations in Naples, Clearwater, Tarpon Springs, Sarasota, Orlando (First Unitarian), Lakeland and Marion County.
  • recruited, trained, assigned, monitored, and rewarded volunteers in a program of one-on-one visitation to lonely, isolated community seniors to enable them to stay in their homes as long as practicable.
  • developed and co-presented the workshop, "Ministry to the Aging" to the Florida District Assembly.
